AVISHAYES Combe Crocodiles cruised through the second round of this competition and qualifying for the semi-finals. They won all three of their games, with only the Avishayes Alligators team causing them any real problems.

In the first game they beat Holway 2-0 with goals from Scott Jakeman and Owen Richardson. Oliver Hooper in the Avishayes goal coped well with everything that went through the defensive partnership of Kai Coulstock and Aaron Larcombe.

In the second game it took a dramatic last minute winner from Jakeman to put away a resilient and stubborn Avishayes Alligators defence although Neil Parkes had hit the post earlier in the game.

In their final game they beat Perry Street 3-0 with goals from Parkes and two from Jakeman, with Thomas Rawles involved with setting up all three. Aaron Larcombe was outstanding in this final game, ensuring that the side kept its clean sheet record.

-o- IN two games the Avishayes Combe Alligators were undone by late goals and crashed out of the cup competition. The Alligators started well holding local neighbours Perry Street to a 0-0 draw with Ruben Carlos and William Hine playing well in midfield.

In the second game, against the Crocodiles, fantastic goalkeeping from man-of-the-match Daniel Burke kept the scores even and great work from Alice Beresford and Dominic Lane ensured that lines were cleared. Chris Hollick and Bradley Minchinton looked dangerous on the break but they could not penetrate the well-organised defence. Eventually the defensive shield was broken.

Needing a draw from the final game of the day things were looking good for Alligators with Timothy Pedlar, Hine, Minchinton and Hollick all looking like they might score. As it was they were undone by a late goal. Despite their exit the team played well - if only they could have scored!
