EVESHAM United manager Paul West is demanding a response from his players when they host Willenhall Town at St George's Lane tonight (7.45pm).

The Robins lost for the first time in nine matches on Saturday with a 2-0 home defeat by fellow Southern League Division One Midlands play-off hopefuls Chasetown.

West, whose side dropped to sixth in the table, was less than pleased with his players' effort and wants an immediate improvement against Willenhall.

He said: "We were disappointing on the day and they wanted it a little bit more than us. I will be looking for players to react and not feel sorry for themselves.

"I was disappointed with the energy, we looked a bit lacklustre. But it has gone now and we have got to push on - there's still plenty of football to be played.

"We have had a super run and we have got to try and get back against Willenhall."

Mark Hands is likely to start tonight after missing Saturday's game with a groin problem. Hands has been suffering with the injury for most of the season and is currently being used for every other game in a bid to keep him fit.

West is expecting another tough game against a Willenhall side with games in hand on the play-off chasing pack.

The United boss said: "The bottom sides are still fighting for their lives and the top sides are trying to get in the play-offs."
