HOSPITAL car parking has been slammed by an MP who claims that other people are suffering in the process.
Ribble Valley MP Nigel Evans said that people living near hospitals were affected by the parking problems as well.
Last year, Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust took £1,288,080 in parking fees from staff and visitors.
He said: "This is a huge sum of money whilst many people living near the hospitals are suffering with parking outside their homes and across their drives.
"It would be far better if this money was invested in proper parking, so that the people with homes near the hospitals were given their roads and drives back.
"And at the same time, people who work at the hospital and are visiting ill relatives were given enhanced parking facilities."
