Hampton's bandwagon rolled on with their 12th away win of the season on Monday, a 2-0 success at struggling Hendon.

This was the third attempt to get the game played, the previous two being postponed due to waterlogged pitches, and before kick-off the exposed Hendon ground was hit by a snow blizzard. When it stopped the temperature dropped like a stone.

Tobi Jinadu made his debut at the back for Hampton, replacing Matt Elverson, while Lawrence Yaku started in place of Elliott Godfrey.

Yaku beat three men to set up Ian Hodges, but the Hampton striker scooped his shot over the bar. Undeterred, Yaku opened the scoring in the 32nd minute by finishing off good work by Francis Quarm with a low shot.

Barrie Matthews made some sparkling runs down the left, but further chances were missed by Hodges and Rob Paris.

Hendon forced several corners in the second half, from one of which they hit the post.

Hampton then woke up and six minutes from time Yaku and Quarm both had shots blocked before Quarm lashed the ball in.

The Beavers moved up to third place, a point behind leaders Chelmsford City with a game in hand.

Hampton: Lovett; Harper, Matthews, Jinadu, Paris, Wells, Lake, Yaku (Asombang, 85mins), Hodges, Quarm. Subs unused: Godfrey, Elverson, Gardner, Harris.
