POLICE found a man in possession of a gun and a baseball bat after being called to a late night car crash.
The two drivers and their passengers started fighting after getting out of their cars following the collision between a black Range Rover and blue Peugeot 206 on the slip road leading from the Five Bells interchange onto the London bound carriageway of the A13.
Two men were taken to Basildon Hospital by ambulance after being injured during the row while two other men were arrested on suspicion of assault.
Detectives are appealing for anyone who saw the incident at about 12.15am on Saturday, November 28, to come forward.
Detective Constable Alex Gartshore said: “This happened at a busy interchange and we believe that quite a few vehicles passed the scene.
“We want to hear from anyone who saw what happened or saw the events leading up to the collision.”
Two men from Basildon aged 27 and 22 were arrested on suspicion of assault and having a shot gun and baseball bat.
They have been bailed until Tuesday, December 15.
