TWO groups have united to raise cash for a school roof and to replace windows.
The Friends of St Michael's and The Bridgers, the Howe Bridge Community Group, have launched an appeal for £17,000 towards the £170,000 cost of the work.
They are looking for groups to organise fundraising events, volunteers, and for donations of either cash or raffle prizes.
Bridgers' chairman Terry Daly said: "Ninety per cent of the money has been raised through funding, but unfortunately, the school has to find the other ten per cent.
"Over the coming months we will be holding regular events to raise money and this will probably mean that we will need volunteers to help out."
