THE leaders in both divisions of the Courier Post Runcorn Sunday League consolidated their top spots with fine wins on Sunday. Bridge Timber beat Roosters 6-2.
In the First Division, Reos took a great stride toward the title by beating rivals Bridge Boys 3-0.
In the Bob Orme Challenge Cup, Halton Barley once again struggled to overcome first division opposition in the form of a well-organised and spirited Todd Dynamos.
Todd dominated the first half and it was no surprise when they took the lead with a 35-yard lob that caught out stand-in keeper Gregg Short.
Barley rallied but, when Danny Woolley's long range effort struck the bar, it looked like Todd could hold on for a much-deserved victory.
It was not to be as Halton Barley threw on forward Liam O'Mullane to add to the strike force. He rewarded the gamble with a goal and set up Danny Woolley for an injury time winner.
In the Harry Tabb Trophy, Tricorn beat DUK Brewer 4-0.
