Ammanford had a disastrous result at Cardiff Corries, a team just above them in the league, but pulled back some credit from a draw with Caldicot on Sunday.

The Corries scored a goal as early as the fifth minute when a defensive blunder let in Corries for a simple goal.

It looked as if Ammanford would pull the goal back after Richard Lewis and Liam Preece gave the home defence some anxious moments with free kicks and a penalty appeal but Corries added to their tally with a well taken goal.

Ammanford, through McNeil and Hughes, then saw their efforts end with hitting the post, before another defensive blunder let Corries in for 3-0 just five minutes from halftime.

Ammanford had the ball in the net at the start of the second half but the goal it was disallowed for going straight in from an indirect free kick.

Corries then created anther opportunity just minutes later and went 4-0 up.

Another Ammanford effort was deflected by the keeper on to the upright before Luke Fayres hit the crossbar with the keeper beaten .

Ammanford again made it easy for Corries to score with yet another defensive blunder and although Richard Lewis was creating chances at the other end Ammanford conceded a penalty just two minutes from time.

It was undoubtedly Ammanford's worst performance of the season. But they had a chance to make amends when they took on third placed Caldicot on Sunda and came away with a 2-2 draw.

l The Reserves pulled off another fine win beating Briton Ferry 3-0 with Rhys Fisher claiming two goals. Ammanford Reserves match has been changed owing to the fact that Goytre are home in the cup. The seniors are home to Troedyrhiw.
