FRIENDS of a man who died after a football match paid tribute to him on his birthday.
Martyn Burton, 31, of Ramsbottom, had been playing for the Manchester Deaf FC, in Cardiff, when he died after the match on February 4.
After his funeral, friends and team-mates wrote messages for him on a T-shirt printed with his photograph, taken before the match on the day he died.
On Tuesday, which would have been Martyn's birthday, the framed T-shirt, along with a bench in his memory, were unveiled at the Rose and Crown pub, Ramsbottom.
Landlord Chris McClung said: "There were about 100 people there. Martyn was an extremely popular lad."
