THE 2006 programme ended with a show presented by Mike Dodd, from Cheltenham.

The first half was of pictures taken around the UK in the 1960s by his father.

The second half was of his own pictures in this country and also abroad, with spectacular scenes in Pakistan and Eritrea.

An excellent show was attended by the largest audience of the year.

The first meeting of 2007 will be held at The Parish Centre, Needle Close, Studley (off Alcester Road, opposite Tesco) on Tuesday, January 30, starting at 8pm.

Colin Bennett, from Wilmcote, will present a show called UK Steam and Diesel in Action. This will feature pictures taken around the UK over the past 40 years featuring all types of locomotives and trains.

On the GWR at Toddington after the Santa Specials, a Diesel Gala was held on December 27 and a Steam Gala on December 30 and 31. Amazingly, 13 different locomotives were used in these two events and in spite of poor weather for the Steam Gala, the car parks and trains were full, with more than 2,000 passengers being carried.

Plenty of work will be undertaken in the next few months but no trains will run until March 3.
