ONE of the leading authorities on Velocette motorcycles is heading for Malvern and bringing with him two racing bikes, including the famous Roarer' 500cc supercharged machine from the 1930s.
Ivan Rhodes will be giving a talk at the Malvern & District Motorcycle & Light Car Club on Wednesday, February 7, at 8pm.
Ivan is well known among the classic and vintage motorcycle enthusiasts for his in depth technical knowledge of the Velocette motorcycle.
His book Velocette - Technical Excellence Exemplified probably carries a greater amount of technical detail on the Mk VIIIs than any other publication.
His love of the Velocette and knowledge of its achievements are clear to see, and his book is a must for any serious Velocette enthusiast.
This machine was designed and built before the war, then when racing re-started after the war regulations changed and it was no longer eligible as supercharging was then outlawed.
Ivan will be at the Malvern club in Link Way, Howsell Road, to talk about his experiences and the achievements of this famous British motorcycle.
Tickets are available at £4 from the club, or call 01684 311582.
