A PENSIONER missing for more than two weeks has been found safe and well following a desperate search.

Concerns had been raised for Alan Green, of Crossley Avenue, Jaywick, who went missing from his home without his medication and with no explanation.

Police joined forced with the Gazette to hand out posters to residents in a bid to find someone who might have seen the 72-year-old, who disappeared with little money and no belongings on March 6.

Sgt Tony Burton, of the Clacton Town Centre Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: "Mr Green has been found alive and well and absent of his own accord.

"He has been advised by police to contact his wife.

"Police would also like to thank the media for all of their help in this matter."

On Tuesday, Joan, Mr Green's wife of 46 years, pleaded for anyone who has seen him to get in touch.

She said he phoned home the day after he went missing, telling her he was in Walton and had got himself a job.

He told her he would be coming home to pick up his medication and clothes in three hours, but did not get back in touch.
