AN independent estate agent will give away a quarter of its fees to raise money for a local school.

Blacklers, of Kenton Lane, Belmont Circle, has been operating for 70 years and to mark its anniversary managing director David Murray has promised to help St Joseph's School raise £200,000 so it can build new classrooms.

Mr Murray said: "St Joseph's is our local school and we have always been supportive over the years."

Mr Murray added that he wanted to give something back to the community after being involved with it for so long and his company's goodwill gesture would last for the whole of February.

He added: "It is an opportunity for people to use a professional service when they buy a house and the more people who to come to us the more money we can raise."
