A NEW musician is needed for an old church piano.
The instrument is no longer needed at St Michael's Church, which hopes to sell it and include any proceeds in the church organ fund.
The Rev Ian Bishop said: "We've now got an electronic keyboard that we can put through the sound system so we don't need the piano at all.
"The suggestion has been made that money will go to the church organ fund because it seems right to keep it involved with church music."
Professional pianists have used the instruments for recitals at the church and the piano tuner who has maintained it says it is too good to be scrapped.
It has been valued at around £400 but Mr Bishop emphasised that it would be better for someone looking for a musical instrument rather than a piece of furniture as the case itself is old fashioned.
Reasonable offers can be made to treasurer Hugh Malkin on 01606 833023.
