THE folk series continues this year with a musical experience to be found at The Brewhouse in Taunton on Tuesday, March 20.

English folk singer June Tabor has been singing since she a young girls, after she was inspired by an Anne Briggs song in 1965.

Her excellent reputation in her chosen field has encouraged songwriters, including Elvis Costello, to write for her, and in 2004 she was named Folk Singer of the Year at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards.

Previous collaborations have included recordings with The Oyster Band and The Mrs Ackroyd Band, and now she is teaming up with box player Andy Cutting and Mark Emerson on piano and viola for a night of serene, well-balanced folk music.

June has received high praised from The Guardian, The Observer and the BBC as one of Britain's greatest interpreters of popular music.

Staring at 7.45pm, tickets are £14, concessions and over-60s £12 from the box office on 01823-283244 or online at www.thebrewhouse.net.
