A CHARITY which offers a four-week respite break for children affected by the Chernobyl disaster is appealing for host families.
Each year Gravesend-based charity Concern for Chernobyl Children bring around 30 children to Gravesend from Belarus.
Many children have illnesses caused by radiation following the reactor plant disaster in 1986.
The charity says a break in the UK can boost their immune system for up to two years.
Volunteer host families are needed to look after a child for four weeks from July 27 until August 24.
Interpreters are on call during this period and activities are organised for the child.
Each family which accepts a child will have a criminal records check.
If you have a spare bedroom and can accept a child, aged between eight and 12 years old, please call 01474 332375.
