LYE'S first Mela festival was a huge success with councillors, communities and residents turning out.
The festival was held at Lye Community Centre and opened by Stourbridge MP Lynda Waltho.
Lye Councillor Pete Lowe helped Mohammed Hanif to organise the festival which featured food, fashion and jewellery.
Stourbridge MP Lynda Waltho said: "I really enjoyed the first Lye Mela.
"There was a massive turnout and it was really good to see people from a variety of communities enjoying themselves together, learning about the history of Lye as well as some of the cultural traditional from east and west."
Organiser Mohammed Hanif was really pleased with the turnout which attracted over 350 people with people coming and going all afternoon.
Mohammed said: " It was a delight to be involved with the organisation of the first ever Lye Mela.
"The local community really pulled together and showed the talent that there is in Lye.
"After such a success we are already planning for something similar next year."
