Hundreds of people have signed a petition to protest against the axing of this year's Wivstock festival.
Supporters from as far away as Canada and Finland have joined the campaign after organisers announced they were cancelling Wivenhoe's May fair.
They pulled the plug on the charity music festival last week after a red-tape wrangle.
More than 300 people have signed an internet petition to voice their "dismay" over the news and calling for alternative events to be staged.
Festival organisers have vowed the event will return next year.
