DAREDEVILS took a 'leap of faith' at Kingston Maurward College for Comic Relief.

They tackled the college's high ropes course and raised £350 for the charity.

The group of 13 students from the Advanced National Certificate in Animal Care said they were the only class brave enough to attempt the course.

Many of the students dressed up for the day in military fatigues with red noses to match. The day was run by the Professional Outdoor Instructor Course.

The students included Jane Sillence, Harriet James, Anneka Harding, Sarah Pitcher, Victoria Knight and Georgina Ashdown.

The fundraiser was among many held in Dorset for Comic Relief.

Stuart Mackenzie from the Land Registry went under the knife and raised £450.

He volunteered to have both his head and beard shaved after 18 months of growth.

Colleagues Lesley Wood and Jeanne James performed the honours. All together, staff at the Land Registry at Chickerell raised more than £510.

Staff and children at Westhaven Pre-School enjoyed dressing up in red and big clothes to raise money. They raised £32.

Staff and children from Jumping Beans pre-school on Portland dressed up and held a cake stall to raise £130. And youngsters at Broadwindsor School also joined in the fun by wearing red for the day.
