AN airman has sacrificed his hair - and dignity - to raise money for charity after his mother was diagnosed with breast cancer.
Senior Aircraftman Micky Trainer, of RAF Leeming, was devastated when his mother, Allison, was diagnosed with the illness near Christmas.
Instead of giving in, however, the family decided to fight back.
SAC Trainer, 24, from Thornaby, set the ball rolling by having his head shaved and his chest and legs waxed - raising £4,000 to be shared between the chemotherapy unit at North Tees Hospital, Stockton, and the neurology unit at James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough.
Anyone who would like to to make a donation is asked to call SAC Trainer on 07958-784820.
