THE families of two men who died in a car crash on the A3090 have paid tribute to them.

Driver, 20-year-old Robin Turpitt, from Southampton, and front seat passenger Peter Morton, also 20, from Ampfield, died when the silver Honda Civic they were in collided with a tree between Ampfield and Hursley on Saturday, March 31, at around 10.15pm.

The third passenger, a 17-year-old girl from Eastleigh, suffered a broken ankle and was treated at Southampton General Hospital.

Mr Turpitt's family said in a statement: "He was a popular person who loved his car.

Mr Morton's family said: "Peter was a wonderful son and brother with a tremendous zest for life. He will be dearly missed by his family who loved him very, very much. He had an abundance of friends who will miss him as much as we will."
