STRIKER Marcus Richardson believes Crawley can maintain their scintillating league form until the end of the season.

The 29-year-old made his first start since joining from Cambridge United as Reds extended their unbeaten run to five games with a 3-1 win over Forest Green on Saturday.

He said: "Every game we play from now until the end of the season, we are looking to get three points. No matter who we are playing, I believe the team is confident enough that we can beat them."

Richardson insists the best is yet to come from him after impressing against Rovers.

The big frontman, who twice previously came off the bench against Southport and Gravesend, is short of match fitness after missing most of December through illness.

He said: "I hold up the ball, I give a bit of strength and some pace but you will see that when I am fitter.

"They are my main strengths and, hopefully, sooner of later in the next game or two, when I get more match fit, you will see the best of me."

Richardson was given a chance due to a groin injury to Lloyd Blackman and he knows he has to maintain high standards to keep his spot.

He said: "Football is a pressure game and I wouldn't be in it if I didn't know all about the pressure for positions.

"Lloyd has been playing and I had to be patient but he got injured and I came into the team. When Lloyd comes back there will be competition so I will have to score next time."

Defender Matt Duffield is set to miss Horsham YMCA's home game with Kingstonian tonight after picking up a hamstring injury in the 1-1 draw at Met Police on Saturday.

Striker Steve Davies may return to the bench after recovering from an ankle problem.
