FIRST Great Western passengers experienced 20-minute delays between Worcester Foregate Street and Oxford due to the weather conditions.

John Roche, a spokesman for First Great Western, said: "All our services are running as advertised, but are subject to delays of up to 30 minutes in places.

"Services between Oxford and London Paddington are running but the weather has caused some minor problems with the points, so there are delays.

"Network Rail is working to clear the points which are not frozen but clogged by snow."

First Great Western passengers also travelling towards Henley experienced delays.

Chiltern Railways was running a normal timetable with some delays and cancellations occurring as a result of the snow fall.

Most services were running as advertised and no major problems were reported.

A half-hour service was running on the Aylesbury to London Marylebone via Amersham line.

First Great Western passengers were delayed on two trains - one going from Worcester to Paddington and the other travelling in the opposite direction - when the services were halted at Ascott-under-Wychwood near Charlbury, due to a problem with points.

As a result, the 11.25am Worcester to London Paddington service was cancelled.
