Music From The Black Barn celebrates the sound of local bands at Forty Hall Farm every month. This Saturday, they are welcoming the traditional beats of Don Kipper, who were the winners of The World Music Network's Battle of the Bands in 2015.

Don Kipper are a multi award-winning seven-piece ensemble that play and transform a wide range of traditional musical forms, from Turkish Fasıl and Greek Rebetiko to Romani music and Klezmer. As well as rooting themselves deeply in these traditions, they also explore different interpretations and their music is blended with complex harmonies, polyrhythms and imaginative improvisation.

Since 2013, they have released two albums, played two European Tours and won the titles of both the Moshe Beregovski Award for best Klezmer Newcomers and The World Music Network's Battle of the Bands.

They have played at an array of UK and European festivals, including Shambala in the UK, Mandrea in Italy, Hünsruck Open Art in Germany, Art in Action UK, as well as many others.

Music at the Black Barn is running throughout the rest of the year and next month there will be a tribute to Springsteen, with a Tribute To The Boss that will combine the sound of The E Street Band with performances made legendary by Bruce Springsteen himself.

In December, folk rock band Murphy's Lore will be making a welcome return to the Barn. The group has played across the UK and Europe over the past decade with material that often strays across folk, country, rock and ska.

All proceeds from the evening are invested in future music events at Forty Hall Farm.
