A unit to help teenagers with autism to achieve independence after leaving school will open in North Wembley tomorrow.
The Hoffmann Foundation for Autism will open the building for six young adults in Langham Gardens after refurbishing the site to create a sensory room and garden and six bedrooms designed with autism-specific features.
The aim of the charity, which will celebrate its 60th year helping autistic children in the capital in 2013, is to provide a transition between full-time education into helping teenagers achieve independence in their adult life.
The building will be opened by former trustee of the charity, Ralph Fox, at a ceremony tomorrow afternoon
