A contractor for the expansion of a primary school will be discussed and appointed at a council meeting tomorrow evening.
Alexandra Primary School, in Western Road, Wood Green, is set to expand from a single form entry to a two-form entry during the coming year.
Haringey Borough Council decided the school should expand in order to help deal with the increased number of children n the Wood Green area and will double in size from 210 places to 420.
Tomorrow the council cabinet will discuss the project and will appoint a contractor to carry out the construction work at the school which will start later this year.
Haringey council has put aside more than £2million for the project which will include a new entrance and office space and the refurbishment of classrooms and play areas.
