The victim of a fatal attack in Finsbury Park on Tuesday has been officially identified by police.

Matthew Fallon, 45, of Garwood Close, Tottenham died on Thursday of bleeding on the brain.

He had suffered a serious head injury in an apparent assault in Isledon Road on Tuesday evening.

Police had been called at around 7.50pm to reports of a man unconscious in the street. Mr Fallon was taken to the Royal London Hospital.

A 35-year-old man was arrested at around 6am on Thursday in connection with the investigation and taken to a north London police station. After Mr Fallon's death he was arrested again on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody.
