MP Lynne Featherstone has praised the “invaluable service” a housing group offers the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community.
The Liberal Democrat politician met the chief executive, staff and people living in a property run by Stonewall Housing in Highgate to discuss issues affecting the LGBT community and learn more about the group’s work.
Stonewall Housing provides supported housing to more than 40 LGTB people while lobbying for rights and delivering free housing advice to the community.
The MP, who visited on on Friday, April 19, said: “It was great to visit the house and hear about Stonewall Housing’s work. They provide an invaluable service to vulnerable LGBT people in my constituency and across the city.
“They would like to do more. It was great to hear about their aims and ambitions to expand their support network, for instance to vulnerable LGBT asylum seekers."
