A new mural at a school in Tottenham has answered the question “what’s the time, Mr Wolf?” once and for all.

The piece of work at Tiverton Primary School in Pulford Road was completed by artist Claire Ward-Thornton, who was asked to create “an artistic statement the school could be proud of”.

After consulting with students from Years 4, 5 and 6 she decided to create a wolf inspired by the popular playground game.

It is also a play on the fact that the wall has three clocks on it which help the children know what time it is while they are out playing.

The school’s headteacher, Resham Mirza, hopes the piece will increase the children’s understanding of art and inspire more of them to take it up.

She said: “The wolf is big part of folklore in all cultures and although it can be predatory it can also be quite protective.

“I’m absolutely delighted with the work and we’ve had some many positive comments from pupils, staff and parents.

“The quality of the work gives the children something to aspire to.”
