A 17th Century pub in Tottenham has reopened after a £185,000 refurbishment.

Customers were invited to enjoy a glass of champaigne and see the new-look Ferry Boat Inn, in Ferry Road, at a VIP reception last Friday.

The pub was originally the dwelling of 17th Century ferrymen and has plenty of period features which have been retained.

Tracy Lynch, general manager of the pub, said: “The pub is steeped in history and character and it’s important to us that we enhance its features at the same time as bringing it up to date with new décor and furniture.”

The reopening has also created three new jobs.
