These pictures show the knives taken off Haringey's streets by the Metropolitan Police over the past few months.

From hunting or fishing knives that could easily be used as weapons to more domestic bread and cheese knives, all will be destroyed following the conclusion of criminal investigations regarding their possession.

Haringey Police tweeted the images yesterday to show the number of knives they had taken out of circulation.

There were 109 knife crime offences in the borough of Haringey between November 2013 and January 2014 according to Met figures.
