Budding primary school chefs received a pan-Asian master class at a Crouch End restaurant this week.
Pupils from Coldfall Primary School, in Coldfall Avenue, Muswell Hill, visited Tootoomoo, in Crouch End Hill, to learn about global cuisines and new foods as part of a weekly cooking club.
Infant school students were given the opportunity to cook a chicken stir fry while junior school pupils created a cucumber and mango sushi dish.
The free education programme fits with the Early Years Foundation Stage and National Curriculum offering young people opportunities and experiences beyond the classroom.
Diana Susic, a Year 4 student, said: "It was the first time, and definitely not the last time, I am going to eat sushi in my life.
"It is already my favourite food so far in my life and probably going to stay my favourite food forever."
