Police have warned moped drivers to keep their vehicles in a secure place after eight were stolen in just two weeks.
The scooters were mainly taken from the west of the borough and officers believe the stolen mopeds are often used in crime and then dumped, explaining the rise in bag-snatches from suspects riding mopeds.
Haringey Police said on social networking site Twitter: "By keeping your moped secure overnight you can help us reduce the associated crimes linked to moped thefts - and keep your moped safe."
