Police fired shots before arresting two men in Tottenham on Monday.

Officers from the Met’s Trident Gang Crime unit arrested Bulant Eren, 34, of Kingsfield Drive, along with a second man, aged 21.

Mr Eren was subsequently charged with attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

The second man, also arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, was bailed pending further enquiries.

Specialist firearms officers approached a stationary vehicle on the junction of Walton Road and Broad Lane following a tip-off.

A police firearm was discharged, but no injuries were reported.

Police say the incident is linked to the shooting in West Green Road on Friday, which led to the arrest of three men following a shootout involving the National Crime Agency.
