A charity director completed a gruelling night time bike ride to raise more than 1,100 for an inclusive theatre group.

Jim Shepley tacked the 100km Nightrider cycle challenge in six and a half punishing hours on Saturday night.

The challenge, which starts and finishes at Alexandra Palace,  took participants through some of London’s most famous landmarks.

Mr Shepley managed to raise a total of £1,173 in sponsorship for Haringey Shed – an inclusive performing arts group based at Haringey Irish Centre in Pretoria Road, where he is an executive director.

He said: “What a fantastic experience and such great weather, despite the bleak forecast earlier in the week.

“Watching night turn into day over some of the London’s most iconic landmarks is something to behold and highly recommended.  The Ally Pally hill at the end is a masochistic delight to finish off with.”
