Parents can find out more about Haringey’s outstanding schools from the experts at a special event next week.

The Education in Haringey open day, put on by the council, invites parents and pupils to ask questions of education leaders about what to expect from schools in the area.

Every secondary school in Haringey is rated at least ‘Good’ by Ofsted, with many ‘Good’ and ‘Outstanding’ secondary schools as well.

The event on Wednesday, July 2, at Risley Avenue Primary School, in The Roundway, will focus on school improvement, the council’s vision and targets for school standards in the future, and an overview of school place planning across the borough.

The panel of experts includes Councillor Ann Waters, cabinet member for children, Jon Abbey, assistant director for schools and learning, Zina Etheridge, deputy chief executive at the council, and Jennifer Duxbury, head of admissions and school organisation.

The event will be divided into two sessions – 4pm to 5.30pm and 6.30pm to 7.30pm. A free crèche will be available for children aged three months and older.

To book a place at either session or request a crèche place, please email events@haringey.gov.uk or call 020 8489 5000 stating which session you would like to attend and whether you need a crèche place.
