The borough’s health service will re-open an investigation into the conduct of Jimmy Savile in one of its hospitals.
Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust was asked to look into an incident that took place in Friern Barnet Hospital by the Department of Health (DoH), based on information handed to them by the Metropolitan Police, in February 2013.
However, the trust concluded that there were no matters that needed investigating.
A report published today by the DoH reveals that the decision has been overturned and that the trust have again been asked to investigate reports of an incident involving Savile.
28 NHS hospitals have published the findings of their investigations into Savile's behaviour on their wards today following the Met handing information to the DoH in 2012.
It is now thought that the ex-television presenter abused patients in mental health hospitals across the country.
An inquiry into abuse by the star on BBC premises is due to produce its report in September.
