A group campaigning against bookmakers in the borough will hold a demonstration.

The Lordship Campaign Group will hold an “awareness event” to give out letters, leaflets and information about the latest bid by a bookmaker to open a shop in the area.

Paddy Power, a betting shop firm, is appealing against the council’s refusal to grant it a betting licence.

The campaign group is asking people in the Wood Green area, where the firm want to open their new branch, to voice their concerns.

They will be outside 606 Lordship Lane, N22 5JH from 8pm on Tuesday.
