Haringey Borough suffered disappointment in the FA Cup after slumping to a 3-0 defeat at home to Hertford Town in the extra preliminary round.

Boro had high hopes going into the tie after wins in their opening league games but a disastrous start saw Hertford score within 17 seconds of the kick-off through Kardan Campbell.

The visitors extended their lead when Louis Rose headed home just before the break.

Hertford sealed victory in the second half when Leigh Rose volleyed home to end Haringey’s hopes of a cup run.

There was better news for Tom Loizou’s side on Tuesday night when they won 2-1 at home to Ilford in the Gordon Brasted Trophy.

Borough travel to face Enfield 1893 in the Essex Senior League this weekend.
