A taxi driver helped rescue six people from a burning building.
Working before firefighters arrived, the man used a ladder to enable five adults and two children escape the top floors of property in Wood Green on Sunday night.
The two children were taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service crews.
Firefighters then rescued a further two women and two men, before battling for more than an hour to gain control of the blaze.
Fire crews from Hornsey, Edmonton and Southgate fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
