A former councillor will face her fears with a terrifying midnight trek through Epping Forest.
Sophie Erskine, of Fortis Green Road, will complete a 30km “fright hike” overnight for charity Changing Faces, which supports people with facial disfigurements.
Ms Erskine will complete the journey through the forest with three colleagues, while people in ghoulish costumes wait in hiding to frighten the walkers.
She said: “It’ll be a challenge. I don’t usually go on long walks, and actually, 30km is quite a long way.
"We’ll have to keep our spirits up, it’s going to be very scary. We’ll all have one head-torch each, so it’ll be like something out of a horror film -- like the Blair Witch Project.”
The hike will take place on November 1.
