Toddlers laid hand-crafted poppies in tribute to fallen soldiers.
Woodlands Day Nursery, in Orchard Road, Barnet, presented a poppy posy at the war memorial at St John the Baptist Parish Church, in Wood Street.
Three-year-old George Cook said the outing was “fun”.
The children, aged 17 months to three-years-old, created the posy with the help of representatives from the Royal British Legion.
They have been participating in a range of creative events to learn about the First World War with the help of RBL representatives.
Younger children were taught how to make poppies out of play dough and to associate the colour 'red' with war.
Charity representative, Maria Klitou said: “We live in a world where there are a lot of conflicts “Because this year is the 100 year anniversary, although it is special every year, this year is especially different.
“Even though they might not understand it, this starts getting them aware. I think everything you start off at nursery, will at school mean they will have a bigger understanding.”
