Police have named a man wanted in connection with a “vicious” attack in Brighton.

Hussein Bahir Ali, 25, of Hornsey, is wanted by police in relation to a stabbing in August.

Mr Ali, who officers say has lived in Hornsey for many years, was last seen outside a house in the area the day after the attack took place.

The attack resulted in a 22-year-old Hungarian man being stabbed in the neck outside a bar in Castle Square, Brighton, at 5am on Sunday, August 10.

The victim lost so much blood that crucial first aid administered at the scene is thought to have saved his life.

As well as asking people in Hornsey to look out for Mr Ali, detectives are making enquiries in France, where Mr Ali has family and has lived previously.

Detective Constable Gemma Holley said: "Anyone with information is asked to contact police on Sussex 101 or email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk quoting Operation Bunker.”
