The shadow business secretary praised small business in the borough.
Chuka Umunna joined Labour candidate for Hornsey & Wood Green Catherine West on a visit to a number of independent traders in Wood Green.
Ms West and Mr Umunna met owners and staff at BurritoCo, Gokyuzu & Kervan and Coffee Republic, all in High Road, Wood Green, and discussed Labour’s plan for small businesses.
Mr Umunna said: “It was fantastic to visit businesses in Wood Green with Labour's local candidate Catherine West. Traders in Wood Green add to the the diversity of the high street and play a vital role in Haringey’s economy.
“To back small business Labour will cut, then freeze business rates for over 1.5 million business premises, saving small firms hundreds of pounds annually.
“And we'll make sure businesses can access they finance they need to grow by setting up a British Investment Bank supported by a regional network."
