The top policeman in Haringey sat down to breakfast with a group of young people to ask them how the Met can improve and engage.

Borough commander Victor Olisa had a full English with teenagers on the Prince’s Trust Team Programme which encourages young people in Haringey to better themselves through practical learning.

The breakfast was arranged following the screening of the documentary The Met: Policing London and gave the teens a chance to ask questions about the TV series and policing Haringey.

A total of ten young people aged between 17 and 19 from Conel College in High Road, Tottenham, questioned the commander on a range of topics from the use of armed police in the borough to drugs use in neighbourhoods.

Ch Supt Victor Olisa said: "It was a complete privilege to meet the young people who demonstrated a dynamic approach to policing and I was absolutely intrigued to hear what they had to say.

"This is exactly what I plan to be doing more of in Haringey to better bridge the gap between police and communities to keep people as safe as we can and to further improve the quality of life of all those who live, work and commute in our borough."

Two of the young people ended the breakfast meeting by performing a short 'rap' for the officer.
