Children with cerebral palsy where treated to a visit from Pudsey bear as he lent a hand to gardening volunteers.

The famous fundraising bear helped a group of volunteers from Lloyds Banking Group clear woodland space for the London Centre for Children with Cerebral Palsy in Coppetts Road, Muswell Hill.

The are is being cleared so that the centre can create a sensory garden for the children and improve their learning and relaxation.

Marketing manager for the centre Roisin Fogarty who also helped out, said: “The children loved seeing Pudsey and it was lovely of him to come along and the volunteers to help us.

“We all took part and enjoyed the fun it was a lovely day and we can now turn that space into a magical forest for the children.”

The visit had been organised by Lloyds as Children In Need is their sponsored charity for this year.

Fundraising manager at the centre Anna Salamonowicz said: “Pudsey was very encouraging the volunteers and children he even used a wheelbarrow himself.

“The children really enjoyed the visit and were absolutely thrilled to see him, they recognised him straight away and were very pleased with the goody bags he had brought with him.”

The London Centre for Children with Cerebral palsy is the only centre and independent school in London for the children with the condition from birth to 14 years old.
