Six men and three women have been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a man in Wood Green.

A man aged 25 and two teenage boys, both 16 years-old, were arrested on suspicion of Murder at Gatwick Airport this afternoon along with three women aged 20, 21 and 61 who were arrested for conspiracy to commit murder.

A further three men aged 55, 23 and 26 were arrested at an address in Hornsey on suspicion of murder.

They all remain in police custody.

On Friday, 42 year-old father of two Erdogan Guzel was killed and a 51 year-old woman seriously injured in a shooting in Lordship Lane, Wood Green.

The investigation into the incident is being led by detective chief inspector Tim Duffield, he said: "The investigation is moving at a fast pace and whilst exact details of what happened remain to be established, what is clear is that two innocent bystanders have been caught up in a violent dispute between other persons.

"I would like to take this opportunity to appeal to anyone who has information and has not yet come forward and spoken to the police to do so.

"I believe there are people out there who know who is responsible for this terrible crime and I appeal to them to consider how they would feel if their loved one was killed or seriously injured whilst going about their business.

"I would like to reassure anyone concerned about contacting the police that they will be treated with the utmost sensitivity and there are measures that can be taken to protect you."

Police were called at around 5.45pm on Friday to reports of a shooting.

Officers, London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance attended. Two victims, a man and a woman, were discovered suffering from gunshot wounds.

The 42-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene at 7.05pm and the 51-year-old woman was taken to hospital where she remains in a critical but stable condition.
