Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane almost scored as England beat Lithuania 3-0 to finish their 2016 European Championships qualifying campaign with a 100 per cent record.

Kane saw a shot deflect off goalkeeper Giedrius Arlauskis for the visitors' second to help ensure the Three Lions completed qualifying for next summer's championships in France with ten wins from as many fixtures.

Kyle Walker also started for Roy Hodgson's side, completing 90 minutes, whilst Dele Alli won his second cap and Andros Townsend was also involved as a late substitute.

Man-of-the-match Ross Barkley scored the opener with a deflected effort after 29 minutes before Kane lashed in at the near post, the ball bouncing off Watford keeper Arlauskis for an own goal.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain completed the scoring in the second period before Alli replaced Adam Lallana and Townsend came on in place of Barkley, who was also man-of-the-match against Estonia at Wembley on Friday evening.
