People flocked to a shopping mall last week dressed in costumes to raise money for Children in Need.

Tottenham community group The Little Flame Cadets collected cash at The Mall Wood Green.

They were joined by The Mall Monster – mascot of the Wood Green mall - and Pudsey to help raise money.

Little Flame Cadet leader Mathew Denny said: “They’ve done really well, we’re extremely happy to raise money for a good cause.”

The Mall’s marketing manager Isaiah Fapuro said: “I was really happy to host a great location for fundraising for such a fantastic cause. Our customers got an extra special surprise in Pudsey visiting and always look forward to seeing him every year.”

The cadets train their members in life skills as well as offering training in first aid to local businesses.

This is the fifth year the cadets, whose ages range from nine to 45, have supported the charity at the shopping centre.

More than 30 retailers in The Mall, including New Look, Wilkos and The Cloth Shop in the Market Hall, added additional support creating banners and installing donation boxes in their shops.
