A property developer who opened its site for the filming of Cadbury’s Christmas advert, has donated its fees to a charity.

SERGO, based at Innova Park, in Enfield, has given its location fee to Enfield Voluntary Action.

The advert from the chocolate giants features Cadbury workers loading chocolate from the industrial sheds into Cadbury’s purple lorries to deliver advent calendars all over the UK.

EVA provides services to local voluntary and community organisations in Enfield where SEGRO has a number of modern light industrial and urban logistics developments.

Alan Holland, SEGRO’s business unit director of greater London, said: “SEGRO always likes to help and support the local communities in which we operate and we are delighted on this occasion to be able to help EVA and the good work they do in Enfield.

“The donation will help support EVA’s training programme for parents, which allows parents to partake in adult learning whilst their children are safely looked after at the crèche provided.”

Paula Jeffery, chief executive of Enfield Voluntary Action, said: “The training services we provide include financial management training and bid writing techniques in order to minimise the skills gaps that have been identified within the community organisations.

“We believe the support we offer is significant in helping local people involved with charities and community organisations to develop new skills whilst also promoting flexible further education for parents that will help to equip them with the required skills for employment and to support the education of their own children.”

In addition to the money, SEGRO will also donate six laptops to EVA to assist with future training.
